SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW?

Carly Fiorina announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination to run for President, over  Hillary no less.  For those of you who don’t remember, she was the one who took over the position of CEO at Hewlitt Packard when it was in dire straits and turned it into a successful company with significantly improved stock values.  How did she do this?  Simple.  By farming out to Southeast Asia, or wherever, thousands of jobs at a cost of 1/3 to 1/2 of what they would have been if the jobs remained stateside.  But maybe this is a good thing.  Just think, if she were President she could farm out the manufacturing of the F-35 Stealth Fighter and our Reagan Class Carriers to some third world country or even India and in the process save us a ton of money.  Can you imagine the Colonel of an F-35 Fighter Group or the Admiral of a Carrier Task Force calling in to an (800) number whenever they encounter a technological problem and get some knucklehead on the line who mumbles with a hard to understand accent and in addition doesn’t know shit from shinola?

More bullshit on the Iran/Iraq/Isis/Syria frontline.  Our Generals, some active and some retired, all seem to be pandering to Obama up the wazoo.  I don’t think that any of them have suggested taking out one of the major players in the equation – Iran.  Our administration is so stupid as to think that Iran will stop meddling in the affairs of its neighbors any more than we would if the situation were reversed or that they will cave in on the nuclear issue.  They will cave in only after they have achieved their goal, the attainment of nuclear weapons or clear cut nuclear capability.  They are laughing at us in spite of all the bullshit coming out of Washington.  Furthermore, the Arab countries, at this point in time, are no more capable of defeating Isis any more than was the Chinese government under Chiang Kai-shek when they were fighting the Japanese Empire during WWII because they were too busy fighting Mao Tse-tung and his communists.  Most people do not realize that Isis and its adherents are not afraid to die nor to blow themselves to bits because of what they believe.  And whenever I hear of Shiites killing Sunnis, or vice versa, I think of Ireland where the Catholics and Protestants have been killing each other for as long as I can remember.  These built in religious differences are all bullshit and until they can be put to rest  there will never be a real peace.

It’s nice being right.  Not too long ago I predicted that due to the partial melting of the ice caps which in turn would lower the temperature of the oceans, even if by only a fraction of a degree, it would serve to diminish the severity of or the number of hurricanes.  The National Weather Bureau just came out with its forecast of hurricanes and predicted only two of any significance for the Atlantic in 2015 – but it did not give me any recognition by saying ‘why’.

Get ready for Hillary as our next President.  It’s not so much that she will win the election but rather that the Republicans will lose it.  Why?  Because she started her campaign eight years ago and is on a roll.  Forget the fact that she has a closet that is bulging with skeletons.  It doesn’t matter.  People forget.  All she has to do is to keep smiling as though nothing happened and to remember, above all, not to tell any lies as did Nixon.  We all know what happened to him.  The Republicans will be arguing amongst themselves for the next year and will not start their campaigning in earnest until their convention in 2016.  For all intents and purposes the election will be over by then unless the Republicans can stop squabbling and agree on a candidate NOW.  They had a good chance at winning when they selected Romney as their candidate and when they lost they tried to blame it on the loss of the Hispanic and Black votes.  Bullshit.  They lost because they got into bed with the lunatic right and didn’t pay enough attention to the female vote.

The other week I ranted on my blog about how callous and indifferent the phone companies are when it comes to providing information for telephone numbers.  I have another beef with the phone companies.  And that is how they have put us at the mercy of the infamous telemarketer.  Why not?  The more calls that are made the more money the phone companies make.  It’s gotten so that I can tell in a heartbeat if a call is from a telemarketer.  It’s usually from a number that I don’t recognize or most likely from a place that I never heard of.  The most annoying of these calls is when you answer and you get a voice machine that says, “If you don’t want to receive any calls from this number, press ‘one’ and it will take 48 hours for your request to be processed.”  Not only can you not find out who is calling or what they want to sell, they are lying.  I pressed the ‘one’ and the calls never stopped.  I know that even telemarketers have to make a living and have families to feed but enough is enough.  I eventually went to my carrier and had that number blocked.  That should have taken care of the problem, right?  So now I get these calls from other numbers in other parts of the country.  You just can’t win.
