WHAT A TANGLED WEB WE WEAVE

WHAT A TANGLED WEB WE WEAVE
WHEN FIRST BEGIN TO DECEIVE

It never fails.  Instead of having to leave office in ignominious disgrace, Richard M. Nixon could have completed his second term and left a legacy, of sorts.  All he had to do was to fess up, back in the day, when he and his cohorts got nailed while diddling around at the Watergate complex.  In six weeks everyone would have forgotten about it or would simply have chosen to ignore it.

But no.  They, the powers that once were, tried to cover it up, obfuscate the issues, make up stories, actually lie to the American public and then make up more lies after the the first set of lies was exposed.  A best selling book and a follow up movie were the final nails in the coffin.

Why did Nixon lie to begin with?  Two words.  Ego and arrogance.  It never fails.

Hillary R. Clinton would have been far better off if she had some guy give HER a blow job and then tell everyone about it.  To tell the truth, for the life of me, I can’t imagine any guy wanting to do that.  Ego and arrogance.

The handwriting was on the wall after Benghazi when her response to the public was, “What difference does it make now?”, or words to that effect.  Future investigations will most likely show that she could have done something to avert the disaster but chose instead to be politically correct and not ruffle the feathers of the host country.

When she left the State Department and the email controversy emerged, reporters converged on her former employer asking specific questions relative to the emails, that were not only NOT answered but worded in such a way that created even more doubt.  It was perfectly clear, at least to me, that the State Department spokespersons were either liars or stupid or maybe both in their obvious quest for more time during which a more believable story could be concocted or, with luck, would all go away.

Thank goodness for reporters with inquiring minds for they would not let up until they had the truth, which still evades us.

And the feeble lies only begat more lies.

The final nails in her coffin came when the big O reached out to Joe Biden asking him to stand by, just in case.

What will happen?  At this point it is anyone’s guess and not necessarily an educated guess.  With Trump trumpeting away on his trumpet, leading all of his Republican competitors and having signed the non-compete agreement for the Republican Party, the Democrats had best get their shit together if they expect to mount any kind of attack.  And this includes the cutting of their losses, now.

  1. I could not agree more. With Nixon, I thought the break-in itself was Keystone cops, both stupid and funny, but I was so upset about the dishonest cover up that I could not sleep for three nights after Ford pardoned Nixon for criminally putting the country through so much dishonest and divisive debate and anguish.
