I’ve always had a lot of respect and admiration for those individuals whose desire it is to bring a motion picture to fruition. Many of us have had visions of making a movie, most of which fade into obscurity. Imagine, if you will, that you were not born in the US but came to our shores as an immigrant with that kind of vision. Where would you start? At the beginning, where else? That means your first step is to have a story that is worthwhile telling. What kind of story? The kind that gets to you. No, I’m not talking about Vampires or Zombies. We have enough of those. I’m talking about the kind of story that you can relate to that includes the true emotions of real people.
A few years ago I had the good fortune to meet a producer just like that. Chau (pronounced like Joe) Van Truong is probably the most unlikely person you would ever expect to be cast in the role of a movie producer. But that is exactly what he is – because he has not only the vision but also the drive and the will to persevere, qualities without which a producer would never be able to achieve his dreams.
Yes. I did read the script for, “Secrets Kept”, and I believe that this is the kind of story that the public can appreciate. I am not going to lay out the details for you nor tell you how it ends – but it is a love story with a twist that is combined with a haunting ghost, murder and redemption, with a little sex of course – ingredients that could easily place Chau’s story in the middle of any one of the many suburban communities that dot the landscape of the US.
While not as difficult as producing a full length feature, to someone who has sat on the sidelines while trying to break into the business, it could be just as daunting – and frustrating. I have to warn you that Chau does not pay much but If any of you out there wish to get in on the ground floor by aligning yourself with, “Secrets Kept”, then I suggest you contact Chau (pronounced like Joe) Van Truong and let him know of your desire and what talents you can bring to the table.
