I Just Don’t Get It, Maybe You Can Explain It

Whatever is wrong with our elected officials in Washington??? Obamacare, Trumpcare, ACA, FUC or whatever you want to call it, will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, ever work unless and until you take the insurance companies out of the equation. While there is no such thing as a perfect plan or solution that will satisfy everyone, the best overall solution, by far, would be a single payor plan ala Medicare, period, end of story.

Based on the past experience of our elected officials, it would appear that simplicity is anathema to them and if there is any way to make something more complicated than it has to be, they will choose to do so.

Under the simple program described herein every legitimate employee who pays taxes, young and old, would be automatically covered upon having completed a nominal waiting period. If that individual wants more coverage, that is when the insurance companies could step in to provide supplemental insurance based on the geographical area of the insured.

All of this garbage that you hear about the insurance companies making health care programs work by their being competitive as they claim, is just that, a lot of garbage. They are in this not to be competitive but to make money. Remember, any, yes any comprehensive insurance program that is predicated on voluntary participation will NEVER work out because the younger individuals who are generally healthy will NEVER voluntarily join in, thereby automatically creating a situation of anti-selection, ensuring that the group becomes actuarially unsound with the inevitable result of unavoidable increasing premiums causing the last of the healthy participants to drop out, leaving only the sick and uninsurable.

Think about it.
